Indyfin review: client reviews, now owned by WiserAdvisor

Indyfin started as a client review and matching platform for advisors. WiserAdvisor bought its matching platform in July 2023, and prospects on indyfin.com are now referred through WiserAdvisor. What's left that's distinctly Indyfin is the review product, priced at $99 a month for a single advisor in early 2026.

Indyfin is now part of WiserAdvisor. WiserAdvisor bought Indyfin’s matching platform in July 2023, and its June 2026 SEC brochure says prospects who use indyfin.com are referred to advisers through WiserAdvisor. So if you’re weighing Indyfin for leads, you’re weighing WiserAdvisor; our WiserAdvisor review covers that. What’s still distinctly Indyfin is its client review product, which a competitor put at $99 a month for a single advisor in February 2026.

What happened to Indyfin

Indyfin was founded in Dallas by Akshay Singh, a former Merrill Lynch advisor. Its review platform launched in March 2022, letting advisors collect and show client ratings on a five-star scale (Financial Planning, August 2023).

WiserAdvisor announced the acquisition on August 2, 2023. Financial Planning reported that the deal had closed the week before, that the price wasn’t disclosed, and that Indyfin “will continue operating under its own brand name.” WiserAdvisor’s SEC brochure, dated June 8, 2026, describes what that means now:

  • WiserAdvisor acquired “the investor matchmaking platform of Indyfin LLC.”
  • Indyfin LLC licenses its website platform technology from WiserAdvisor.
  • “All or substantially all” prospects who use the Indyfin site are referred to advisers through WiserAdvisor, and Indyfin LLC pays WiserAdvisor part of the referral fees it receives.

Indyfin LLC’s own SEC registration (CRD 293453) shows as inactive. The brochure lists indyfin.com among WiserAdvisor’s own sites, next to wiseradvisor.com and paladinregistry.com.

In April 2025, WiserAdvisor launched WiserAdvisor Growth, which sells its leads and Indyfin’s reviews as one product. The launch release said Indyfin hosts more than 5,000 reviews, 96% of them positive.

What Indyfin still offers

The review product is the part that stands on its own. Advisors invite clients to rate them, display the ratings and reviews, and get a profile on indyfin.com. Indyfin says its process is built for the SEC marketing rule, which allows testimonials with conditions.

Reviews are worth taking seriously. Kitces’ 2026 study found firms that show reviews on their website spent $0.13 per $1 of new revenue, against $0.86 for firms doing the bare minimum of marketing. That finding is about reviews in general, not Indyfin in particular.

What it costs

Indyfin’s pricing page lists a single-advisor plan and higher tiers for firms. Wealthtender, a direct competitor, put the single-advisor price at $99 a month as of February 2026, with multi-advisor discounts unknown. Prices may have changed since; check the page.

Leads are a separate bill. They come through WiserAdvisor, whose June 2026 brochure gives a membership of $45 to $5,600 a month and $20 to $350 a lead.

How visible it is

Wealthtender estimated Indyfin’s consumer traffic at about 967 visits a month in February 2026, down from about 4,000 in January 2025, using Ahrefs. That’s a competitor’s estimate, and traffic tools are rough, but it suggests indyfin.com isn’t a big source of prospects by itself. Most of the value is in the reviews you can display elsewhere.

Where Indyfin is the better choice

  • You want client reviews. Indyfin is built for collecting and showing them. Wellspent doesn’t collect client reviews today.
  • You’ll buy WiserAdvisor leads anyway. The Growth bundle pairs leads with reviews under one vendor.
  • You’re fee-based. Indyfin isn’t limited to fee-only advisors.

Where Wellspent is the better choice

  • Verified facts, not ratings. Your record shows your fees, specialties, the clients you serve and your credentials, with fee-only status checked against SEC data. That’s what AI assistants and search need to recommend you for a specific question.
  • Introductions that aren’t resold. A prospect who writes from your record writes only to you, and there’s no per-lead bill.
  • More than reviews. Membership includes a monthly report on who AI assistants recommend when your ideal clients ask, and quarterly press placement with media partners, for $89 a month.

The two do different jobs and can sit side by side. If reviews are your priority, compare Indyfin with Wealthtender.

Bottom line

Indyfin is no longer an independent alternative to WiserAdvisor. It’s WiserAdvisor’s review product, and its prospects flow through WiserAdvisor’s lead service. Judge it on the reviews: if you want compliant client ratings to show on your site, it’s a real option at about $99 a month. For leads, read the WiserAdvisor review. Does Indyfin still send leads?

Are Indyfin reviews compliant with the SEC marketing rule?
