These terms cover the Wellspent partner program (for publishers, coaches, agencies, networks and software companies that introduce advisors to Wellspent) and member referrals (for Wellspent members who invite another advisor). Wellspent is operated by Future Bets, Inc. (“we”, “us”). Our terms of service also apply.
1. Partner program
Joining
The partner program is by invitation. When we accept you, we send a private link to your partner dashboard. Accept these terms there before you share your links. We can decline or end any partnership.
Your links
Your links are wellspent.co/p/{your name}, and ?via={your name} added to any wellspent.co page. When an advisor clicks one of your links and becomes a member within 90 days, without clicking another partner’s link or a member’s invite in between, they count as yours. Only advisors who have never been Wellspent members count.
What you earn
- 20% of what each advisor you introduce pays us during their first 12 months as a member.
- 30% once 10 advisors you introduced have paid. The higher rate applies to payments from the start of the calendar quarter in which you reach 10, and to every payment after that.
- Commissions are calculated on the amount actually paid, after discounts and before tax.
When you’re paid
- Each commission is held for 60 days after the member’s payment, then becomes payable.
- We pay once a month by bank transfer through Stripe, once your payable balance is at least $50. Smaller balances carry over.
- To be paid, finish the payout setup in your dashboard. Stripe collects your bank details and tax information (a W-9, or a W-8 outside the US). We send a 1099 where US tax rules require one.
- If a payment is refunded or reversed, the commission on it is cancelled. If we’ve already paid it, we deduct it from your next payout.
Network members
If you run a professional network or association and we agree on a network offer, your members’ first month is $1. We take $88 off their first bill. Nothing else changes about the membership or its price.
How to describe Wellspent
- Disclose that you’re paid, clearly and next to the link: for example “Paid link” or “Wellspent pays me if you join.” Say it out loud in podcasts and video. “Affiliate link” alone isn’t enough under the FTC’s Endorsement Guides.
- Describe Wellspent accurately. Use the claims in the partner kit, and don’t promise clients, introductions, press placement, or anything about how search engines or AI assistants will rank or recommend a member.
- Don’t bid on “Wellspent” or close variations in search ads.
- Don’t send unsolicited email or messages that mention Wellspent, and don’t post your links on coupon or deal sites.
- Don’t refer yourself, your firm, or anyone you pay or control, and don’t create memberships to earn commissions.
We review partner posts and links from time to time. If something breaks these rules, we’ll ask you to fix it, and we can hold or cancel commissions on memberships that came from it.
No influence on listings
Being a partner never affects any advisor’s listing, position, list order or introductions on Wellspent. We don’t offer, and you can’t buy, placement of any kind.
If you’re a financial professional
If you’re a registered investment adviser, a representative, or a registered representative of a broker-dealer, you’re responsible for your own compliance with any rule that applies to referral income. That might include disclosures on your Form ADV or your broker-dealer’s approval of outside activity.
Ending the partnership
Either of us can end the partnership at any time by email. Commissions earned on payments made before it ends are still paid on the normal schedule, unless the partnership ended because these terms were broken. We can change the program with 30 days’ notice; changes never reduce a commission already earned.
2. Member referrals
- Give a month, get a month. When an advisor joins with your invite link, $89 comes off their first bill. When they’ve paid for their first month and been a member for 30 days after that, we add an $89 credit to your Wellspent account. It comes off your next bill.
- Who counts. Only advisors who have never been Wellspent members count. You can’t refer yourself.
- Limits. Up to 12 credits in any 12 months. Credits have no cash value and can’t be transferred. They stay on your account while you’re a member.
- Your choice. You can turn referral credits off in your portal, for example if your firm doesn’t allow you to accept them. Your invite link still gives the advisor you invite their $89 off.
- Your invitations. Send your invite from your own email or accounts, to people you know. We don’t contact anyone on your behalf.
