Wellspent is the fee-only advisor surface of ClearGraph, an industry-mapping engine that turns fragmented, messy public data into canonical, structured knowledge.

What we believe

We believe the best fee-only advisors in the country are vastly under-represented in digital discovery. They don't outrank the content farms. They don't outspend the aggregators. Most of them don't want to. They built their practices on reputation and referrals, and that served them.

The problem is that the channel through which referrals and reputation actually reach new clients is being restructured. AI assistants are the new first touch. An advisor who isn't findable in that layer will be invisible to a generation of clients that increasingly starts there.

Wellspent exists to close that gap structurally, not by gaming it. Canonical records, a real graph, citations, and membership priced like infrastructure.

From the founder

Why I'm building this.

I spent years working with wealth advisors in the States, focused on acquiring leads with liquid net worth above $5 million. One advisor I worked closely with, Hutch Ashoo, would say the same thing to me over and over: "It's not just gaining a client. What matters is attracting the right kind of client." That line stuck with me. The acquisition problem in fee-only advice isn't volume. It's fit. Nuance and context are not extras at the edges of the work. They are the product.

Once you see that, the industry's incentive problem becomes obvious. Everyone who has tried to build in this space ends up at the same fork. You can build the data layer slowly, with care, and own something durable. Or you can sell leads, often the same lead to several advisors at once, and make a lot of money fast. The pot of gold from lead selling has been large enough, for long enough, that almost nobody has bothered to build the data layer properly. We are committed to changing that.

There is also a personal version of this. My partner and I spent months trying to find an advisor whose practice matched our actual life: high-paying tech jobs, trusts, concentrated equity comp, angel investments, profit share across multiple companies, and property in more than one country. We eventually found someone good, and he was straight with us: we were outside his usual scope. That frustration, the one where you sense the right advisor exists somewhere but the discovery layer cannot connect you to them, is what Wellspent is being built to remove.

Wellspent is the result. A graph that holds the nuance instead of flattening it. A business model that does not tempt us into burning the asset for short-term lead revenue. And a structured surface where an advisor's actual specialty depth, audience, and fit reach the clients looking for exactly that.
